Class II-III to Class IV+ kayaking vacations in Costa Rica

Warm water Kayak trips in Costa Rica

While frequently compared physically to the size of West Virginia, Costa Rica has three times the annual rainfall and mountains that reach heights of 12,000 feet.

Unique to Costa Rica are the accents of tropical flora and fauna, exotic wildlife and cascading waterfalls found only in a rainforest setting, and a culture that embraces you as a visitor. Our trips are planned for the tail end of the rainy season, late October through mid-December.

A wide variety of rivers are accessible through this timeframe from Class II-III runs to Class IV+.  Trip itineraries are flexible depending on water levels and group skill levels. For those coming out of winter climates, you will enjoy the weather, which averages 70 to 85 degrees during the day and 60 to 70 degrees at night. A short sleeve paddle jacket is typically all that is required on the river!

EQUIPMENT FOR THE TRIP:
With over forty boats in country, we have an extensive selection of boats to meet the needs of play boater or river runner. While Wave Sport boats are the foundation of our fleet, Pyrahna, Dagger and Liquid Logic are also represented. We provide the kayak, all in-country transportation, and staff support. We ask each paddler to bring their paddling gear.

Costa Rica kayaking Class II - Class IV

With Trip Itineraries from Class II-III to Class IV, there is a trip for everyone in Costa Rica
Our trip itineraries are designed to paddle the classic runs that have made Costa Rica world-renowned as a paddling destination. Each of our itineraries run from Class II-III to Class IV+, and all include six days of paddling with a goal of a different river each day. And we are always on the scout to add new runs to our itineraries.  Group size is held to a maximum of seven paddlers to the group. We have no problem making exceptions in the case of custom trips. There are weeks when we run two consecutive groups which may share off-river logistics. And non-paddling itineraries are available as well.

Outline of your week of paddling:

DAY ONE: You arrive in San Jose, Costa Rica on Saturday evening.  A representative of ENDLESS RIVER ADVENTURES meets the group at the airport.  After clearing customs and checking into the hotel, you can relax and get acquainted with others on the trip.

DAY TWO-SEVEN: Daylight comes early in Costa Rica, and the group is up and off to the river before most people could struggle through rush hour traffic at home.  Sunday morning we outfit boats and then depart for a typical "Gallo Pinto" breakfast and our first river.  It’s hard to believe that less than twenty-four hours after departing from your home you’re paddling one of the beautiful runs in Costa Rica! Each day we paddle a new river or repeat a favorite run,

DAY SEVEN: After a final run, the group heads back to San Jose for some last-minute shopping and a final evening together in Costa Rica.

DAY EIGHT: On Saturday morning you depart for the airport for your flight home or on a grand adventure touring Costa Rica on your own.

OUR OFF-RIVER LOGISTICS:
Our trip will exceed your expectations as far as the accommodations you will relax in after a good day on the river.  Our trips are based out of hotels--relaxing, comfortable, full-service; perfect to return to after a day of paddling. Rooms are booked double occupancy. If you would like to request a single room, we would be happy to set it up for you, but there would be an additional expense.

We enjoy our meals in restaurants, ordering off the menu.  The meals consist of delicious Costa Rican dishes, an abundance of fresh fruits, and a host of delicacies native to this tropical paradise.

Our trust in in Miguel

Off-River Guide and Transportation:
The most important partnership we have is with our driver Miguel. Working with him for twenty years, we have created a special bond that goes far beyond just providing transportation.

Our guests meet Miguel's family, share time at his home, and quickly come to recognize the commitment he has to running a first class trip.

We have the most reliable transportation in the country.

Supporting our friend OlmanCOMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT - an important part of our trips.
We have a strong commitment to supporting the community of Costa Rica;  creating partnerships with the local businesses.

We shop in the local panaderias for our lunch supplies, stop in local establishments for post-river refreshments, and support local artisans and businesses.  So that we can experience as much of the culture and country as possible, we visit a variety of "hang-outs" to see some of the sights and enjoy local refreshments after each good day on the river.

We also work hard to act as "river ambassadors," not only in our economic support of the local businesses, but in providing support to reinforce the shows the positive impact kayakers can have on an area we each come to love.  Our support has included adopting local schools, helping build recycling programs, and supporting local river projects.  Our goal is to give back something to a community that gives so much with the natural resources shared with us.  Learn more about the annual projects that have come to be a special part of our trips.
