As we pack up our Ecuador equipment and look towards home, we will definitely miss the paddling! As well will be some of the cultural differences found here, the most prominant being the politeness between both friends and strangers here in the country…

Washing clothes is not as simple as separating the colors and whites and throwing them into the washing machine

There is nothing in the covenants in Ecuador that say you cannot park your cow in the drive way--or on the sidewalk!
Who says water and electricity do not mix when you are in the shower!!
Fruits are a little different than the ones we have at the grocery store at home
Only here do you learn that chocolate does not begin at the hershey's factory!
When you look up into the trees, the view is much different than the single-specie forests we are used to at home
And in the same trees you see birds that normally only show up in the bird books!
and some birds you might not even find in the bird book!
and who do you call to complain about the noise the monkeys are making outside your window?
Even kayak shuttle vehicles are more creative here!
