The Quijos River is a short two hour drive from Quito, making it the easiest destination for whitewater rafting in Ecuador. Falling off the eastern slope of the Andes (called the Oriente) is some of the most continuous Class III-IV whitewater to be found in South America. The Quijos River offers 45 kilometers of Class III-IV whitewater, divided up into several sections. All the sections of river are day trips and after each day of whitewater rafting, you will return to the lodge for delicious cuisine, relaxation and a good nights sleep. We also travel to the Tena region for additional whitewater options. We have a commitment to Ecuador since 1995, with trips that will exceed your expectations.

If you have a group of 6-8 that wants to enjoy Ecuador together you may select any of the published trip dates available for a custom trip. Custom trips can include paddling and non-paddling options for split groups. Call us to discuss your adventure!

What you can count on during your trip
Time off-river Experience the culture and scenery of Ecuador! Paddling is the focus of our trip, but we also spend time immersing you in the culture of this amazing country. Enjoy an additional day in Quito exploring the Mitad del Mundo or Old Town and shopping at the market for Ecuador’s fabulous hand-made crafts that make the perfect gifts to take back home.
Accommodations We will pick you up at the Quito Airport and take care of your in-country accommodations from Friday, your first night, through the following Friday night with us, for a total of eight night’s accommodations.
Food. All your in-country meals – from Saturday morning to your last night with us. We have a selection of favorite restaurants. And when an option, you order off the menu.
Transportation In-country private transportation with Angel, who has been with us for 20+ years.
Gear Use of our extensive fleet of boats and all paddling gear provided.
Guides 20+ years’ experience on the rivers of Ecuador, our hand-picked guides understand fluctuating water levels, flexibility, and support.

Travel Arrangements
Flights should be arranged into Quito, Ecuador. You should plan on arriving Friday afternoon/evening for the paddling part of your trip. Do not be deterred by late arrivals into Quito, that is very typical. Included in your trip are accommodations from Friday night through the following Friday night. Departure can be planned for any time after 8PM on that following Friday.
We encourage you to take extra days to explore Ecuador, as there is so much to see in the country than we can offer in just one week. You can mountain bike, climb, fish, hike, bird watch, visit the Galapagos and more! Let us know what interests you have and we can create a custom itinerary.
You will need a valid passport. The passport must have an expiration date of greater than six months after your return date.
Rio Quijos Ecolodge in Ecuador
Our EcoLodge in the Quijos Valley is nestled on the banks of the Quijos River. Surrounded by 40 acres of nature, you will go to sleep to the sound of the river and wake to the sound of a collection of extraordinary birds. Our Ecolodge is fast becoming an International Birdwatching Destination. Our private beach is the perfect launch spot for kayaking and rafting, as well as the location for our yoga center.

9-Day All-Inclusive Package Tours

$1750 per person
This includes six amazing rafting days on the beautiful rivers of Ecuador, choice of activities on days not rafting, accommodations, meals, transportation and the best guides in the area.
- A $350.00 deposit is necessary to hold your space for this trip
- The full balance due no later than December 1.
- Trip price is based on double occupancy.
- If you would prefer guaranteed single occupancy for the week, you may do so at a prorated cost.
Not included in your trip price is airfare, airport taxes, adult beverages during the trip, snacks, miscellaneous tips and your taxi ride to the airport on your way home.

Payment Policy:
For all our trips, a deposit is required at the time you make your reservation. Due dates for trip balances depends on the dates of your trip. Please be prepared to pay by check, Visa, MC, Discover or American Express.
Cancellation:
There is a cancellation policy in line with each trip itinerary. We highly recommend that you look into trip insurance as last minute accidents/changes/life demands sometimes do happen and we cannot refund your trip after the cancellation date.
