Whitewater Kayaking Ecuador
Kayak the Incredible Rivers of Ecuador
Falling off the eastern slope of the Andes is some of the best white water to be found in South America. From Class III to Class IV+, the rivers vary from steep, technical runs similar to rivers found in the Southeastern US, to big water runs full of surf waves and play holes. On some days you will be in a dry top, on others just a short sleeve paddling jacket to avoid the sun!
We have had a commitment to paddling in Ecuador since 1995, offering trips that will exceed your expectations.
What Sets Us Apart for Whitewater Trips
- We have the been guiding trips internationally since 1990, from Costa Rica to Chile to Ecuador.
- Our team includes a combination of dedicated instructors from NC and respected Ecuadorian whitewater guides who meet all certifications set by the Ministerio of Tourism.
- Your trip will be supported by our awesome guides. The guides are there to give you as much support as you want, eliminate unnecessary scouts, heads up for awesome play spots, and suggest the best after-river empanada/beveridge stops.
- All trip transportation is provided by our Ecuadorian partner. It is a private bus certified for tourism and is the most comfortable shuttle vehicle here in Ecuador.
- Our commitment to the community is vast. To start with, we built the RioQuijos EcoLodge in the Quijos Valley – an area that had little-to-no tourism prior to the arrival of kayakers.
- Giving back. We have purchased 500+ additional acres of first growth forest and placed it in a trust. We also support the river conservation efforts of Ecuadorian Rivers Institute.
- We work with the Birdwatchers Club of the Quijos Valley in a reforestation project that has planted over 10,000 trees in the Quijos Valley – almost 5,000 alone on our property.
- We support the local paddling community through gear and boat donations and opportunities to paddle with us. You will still see some of our early Wave Sport boats out on the river. We also support local kids kayaking clubs, including the Chaco Club and Yaku Churis. Our NC nonprofit Need More Outdoors sponsored the Yaku Churis website.
- Giving back to the communities. We bring suitcases full of clothing down for the communities we spend time in. In addition, we organize rafting trips for some of the indigenous communities to experience their rivers.
- We take care of your trip logistics from the moment you land in Quito – where you will be met at the airport, to your departure. This includes all hotel accommodations, all meals, activities and transportation. Our trip is truly all-inclusive.
- Your seven days with us (with an additional day on each end for travel), include world class kayaking on the rivers in the Quijos Valley and the Tena area.
- Our flexibility. We have the ability to accommodate kayakers, as well as whitewater enthusiasts who prefer a Tater, shredder or raft and non-paddling participants who want to have fun while you are on the river.
- We are about more than just kayaking! Our trips include cultural and off river adventures to waterfalls, coffee coops, indigenous chocolate production and local markets. We want you to feel like you have really immersed yourself in both the whitewater and the culture of the country.
- Trip dates from November through February, with additional custom trips available year-round.
- Endless River Adventures follows all guidelines and regulations set up by the Ministerio de Tourismo for adventure tourism.
- Our base in the Oriente is our lodge – the RioQuijos EcoLodge. Once you settle in, you will not want to leave!
