Only when the last tree has died
and the last river has been poisoned
and the last fish has been caught
will we realize that we cannot eat money....
We recognize our responsibility to be shepherds of the rivers we love to paddle, and our support of/participation in organizations who share the same commitment is important.
Our Commitment to Local Community Involvement:
- Adopting a section of highway in the Nantahala Gorge for litter cleanup.
- Supporting the Nantahala River Conservation Fund.
- Supporting the Land Trust for the Little Tennessee.
- Participating in river cleanups organized throughout the region.
Our Commitment to International Community Involvement:
- Providing the most professionally-run international kayak trips so that fellow paddlers have the opportunity to experience our partner countries of Costa Rica and Ecuador.
- Establishing long-term relationships within communities in Costa Rica and Ecuador. This includes partnerships with local businesses such as accommodations, restaurants, panaderias, transportation, as well as fellow whitewater businesses in the community.
- Bringing our guests into to help support our vision. We have come up with a t-shirt program; a custom designed t-shirt for each year/each country, with the proceeds going to help support river education programs.
