Join us for kayak tours on the remote gorgeous lakes of the Smokies

Half Day, Full Day and Sunset Kayak Tours available exploring the seldom-visited areas of Cheoah and Caulderwood Lakes on full-day trips. For the half-day and sunset tours we use Lake Fontana.

Comfortably outfitted in Wilderness System kayaks, any and all experience levels will enjoy this trip. Both scenic and informative, this will be a highlight of your visit to western North Carolina.

Our guides will lead you on water trails around the lakes and into small tributaries, along the way identifying for you the flora, fauna, geology and history of the area.

We start each trip with a morning warm-up to acquaint you with the art of kayak touring boats. Halfway through the day, a delicious picnic lunch is set up with refreshments for the hearty.

Additional points of interest included in the day's exploration can include Cheoah Dam, Fontana Dam, the old Caulderwood railroad tunnel, Slick Rock creek trail and Joyce Kilmer Forest.
