Nantahala River Rafting NC Family Friendly Whitewater Fun!

 Nantahala River NC

ABOUT THE NANTAHALA RIVER:

  • Enjoyed by canoists, kayakers and rafters alike, the Nantahala River is one of the most popular rivers in the U.S.!
  • The river is an eight mile Class II-III river that flows through the Nantahala Gorge. Revered by the Cherokee Indians, the word Nantahala itself means “middle sun” or “midday sun” in the Cherokee language.
  • With its crystal clear, Class II-III water, the Nantahala is the perfect river to enjoy with family and friends.

TRIP OPTIONS:

We offer trips from March through November, seven days a week. To ensure the Nantahala is a trip you will enjoy over and over again, you can reserve your trip based on any of our options:

Guided Raft on the Nantahala, NC If you do not have experience on whitewater, are not familiar with the rapids on the Nantahala River, or if you will be rafting with children, a guided trip is recommended. Our guided trips are fully-guided, meaning we guarantee a guide in your raft. SELF-GUIDED RENTAL TRIPS
  • Raft Trips
  • Inflatable Kayak/Ducky Trips

Ducky/Inflatable Kayak, Nantahala River The Nantahala is not a one-time affair! For more experienced river runners you may opt for a self-guided raft trip--where we provide all the equipment, trip orientation and shuttles and you guide yourselves down the river.

WHAT'S A "DUCKY?"
A ducky or inflatable kayak is a one or two person inflatable raft. Duckys are a great choice for experienced river rafters who are looking for a more high-performance trip down the river. We offer both guided ducky trips and ducky rentals. And wet suits are complimentary for all our ducky guests.

For the more daring, the inflatable kayaks (aka: duckys) are available for running the river again and again. We offer both individual and group rates for self-guided rafts and duckys.
