We invite you to visit our beautiful part of the country and join us for whitewater rafting on the Nantahala, Ocoee and Cheoah Rivers, quality kayak instruction, fly fishing, lake touring, or a trip to an international destination!

That "wow" will be seen in the quality of our outpost, our hand-picked staff; and because we have chosen to be a small company, the level of customer service you will receive. We love what we do. We take pride in our job and in working together to provide you with the best vacation experience possible, whether here in North Carolina, Costa Rica or Ecuador.

Our staff is our pride & joy! Among our staff, you see the same familiar faces every year. You may find yourself with a guide that is cross trained on the Nantahala, Ocoee and Cheoah, teaches kayaking, guides fly fishing, works in the store or works in Costa Rica or Ecuador over the winter. We pride ourselves in being both well-trained and cross-trained. We all believe that we play a part in the company and we care about doing a good job.
We're willing to try something new.
Being a small giant has allowed us to listen to what our guests want out of their river experience and make it happen:- First to commit 100% of our raft fleet to self-bailing rafts
- The first company to make private instruction the cornerstone to our kayak instruction program
- First to limit group size to a 4:1 ratio
- The first company to do only hotel/lodge based trips in Costa Rica
- Introduced a drift boat into our fly fishing options
- Only company to include transportation from our Nantahala Outpost to the Ocoee and Cheoah Rivers--allowing you the ability to do multiple rivers without having to change locations
- Chose to "feature" products in our outfitters store that we personally use to create a better relationship between ERA, the manufacturer and the customer
- Willing to dedicate our resources back to the community through programs like the Nantahala Conservation Fund and the Land Trust for the Little Tennessee
