Team ERA is always on the look out for ways to support our community going “green.” This is our backyard/playground too. We have our own section of highway we adopted, coordinate the Nantahala Gorge clean up each year, give a hand to river clean ups on the Tuck and the Nanty…but there is always more that can be done. And we found it with the “Support Land Trust not the Land Fill” project.

Aside from our pet project of routinely picking up trash, our favorite local project is the Land Trust for the Little Tennessee (LTLT). Land trusts are a cool idea, and protecting the gorgeous Little Tennessee River is an awesome cause. We love it.

So when the LTLT approached us about helping them with a new project, we were all for it. The project is called “Support the Land Trust not the Land Fill” and includes selling Chicobags—a stuff sack that replaces disposable grocery store plastic bags. ChicoBag come in an attached stuff sack that fits easily in your purse or clips handily onto your key chain or backpack so you always have it with you for whatever you may need to carry.

We should have our bags for sale at the shop by the end of the month!
