Hardly. There was a long line of composite WW boats. All WW boats were composite for many, many years. Even in more recent history, there have been plenty of composite slalom WW boats, and prototype composite playboats.
Mega Kayaks, of England, has been selling a composite playboat for a couple years.
It’s a neat looking boat, but hardly a first.
