The the other day Steve was perusing the new Wave Sport website, and read a posting by Kelsey Thompson about where the seat of the Habitat should be positioned to get the boat to peak performance. He mentioned it should be moved to the rear position. Deciding to try it himself Steve was enthused that it remedied issues he had with the boat. It boofed even better than before in all the different conditions and in the shallow perpendicular ledge situations the stern was no longer catching. Move the seat back? Who knew? It is worthwhile checking out what it fixed and how.
I recently got a Hab 74 and couldn’t agree more with what you have said. I love the boat – since I moved the seat all the way back. In my previous boat, Perception Java, I always took a very aggressive forward posture. With the Hab, I sit straight up and lean forward and back to edge and weight/unweight the stern. It paddles much more like a playboat. When I lean forward, it tracks better, when I am nuetral or lean back, it turns quickly. Boofing is pretty much automatic. Love it.
