The Nantahala River Conservation Fund has again awarded four higher education scholarships to graduating high school students from the Nantahala Community (Swain, Macon and Cherokee Counties).
One of the recipients is a graduating senior from Swain County and three are from the Nantahala Union School (located above the Nantahala River). “Thank you so much for the $500 for the spring semester,” shared one of the four recipients, “$500 is a lot of money to a college student and will help me pay for housing this semester. I know I am blessed because every student does not have this much community support.”
