Supporting TeamScum's Paddle to Haiti project

Endless River Adventures is fired up to support Team Scum’s Paddle to Haiti Project.

Members of Paddle to Haiti will canoe 2,320 miles from Lake Itasca, Minnesota down to the Gulf of Mexico. Their goal is to raise $50,000, which will be donated to an affiliated organization that has people working hard on the long-term recovery of Haiti’s population. Along the way, they will host events such as riverside BBQs, Ultimate Frisbee tournaments, and music shows. Because we have been involved with the Couchsurfing project (http://www.couchsurfing.com/) in the past, they know what a generous community it is and they will tap into its wide-reaching resources in order to help the cause. The plan is to meet a lot of people from a lot of towns and cities and explore the diverse facets of the Midwest and the South, and raise funds whenever possible.

Each “river day,” the team will canoe between 15 and 25 miles, camping along the way until they get to a town to stop at.  At each event, we’ll talk about the organization, sell our gear, promote our sponsors, and have a good time with the local folks from the river towns. If you can join the group at a town, they’d love to see you and hang out for a while. You can track them on their blog and look to find them on the river!
